Docandu & Crowdcube: A new successful funding round

After a long journey of calls with potential investors and due diligence checks by Crowdcube, we are happy to announce that docandu managed to finalize its crowdfunding campaign, raising a total of USD 90K through Crowdcube. For us, the campaign’s successful outcome represents a solid stamp of approval, not only because of its public aspect but also since the fundraising process took place amid the coronavirus outbreak. What is more, the fact that companies like Monzo and Revolut have successfully raised capital through Crowdcube in the past makes our step a significant milestone.

Our business plan got approved by more than 130 individual investors from around the globe. The proceeds will be mainly used in business and product development areas, while the company’s management has already been engaged in discussions with institutional investors across Europe to raise a Seed round before the end of the year. On the commercial side, docandu is working on finalizing major commercial deals in sectors such as pharmaceuticals, tourism, shipping, and financial services.

Since the devastating coronavirus pandemic has disrupted the global economic activity and has negatively affected millions of people, investors are looking for value in companies that can provide solutions to health-related problems, generating in such way positive financial return for themselves and positive non-financial impact for the society as a whole.
